We love the heritage and production behind the City Of London Distillery. It resonates with us at Eataly London as our store is dedicated to craft and we are always keen to learn about producers in our new neighbourhood.
The goal of the City Of London Distillery has always been to bring back and maintain the heritage and history of London’s gin production whilst incorporating new contemporary ideas. It is distilled exclusively at the City of London Distillery on Bride Lane, which was the first distillery in the City of London for nearly 200 years, and remains the only working distillery in the city today.
The range takes its inspiration from the architecture of the city, with the dome of St. Paul’s Cathedral forming the shoulders of its bottles. Its Christopher Wren Gin, a traditional gin with a slightly higher ABV, also pays homage to its architect. The range also includes an Old Tom Gin (a lighter, sweeter style of gin popular in the 18th century), a Square Mile Gin (at 47% ABV, the perfect choice for a London-style martini) and a range of delicious flavoured expressions from Sicilian Lemon to Rhubarb & Rose.
The Negroni is the perfect autumn cocktail, and with its delicious bitter-sweet orange flavours and robust aromatics, the City of London Murcian Orange Gin takes it to a whole new level. Plus, it couldn’t be easier to make at home.
